When things feel overwhelming, it can be hard to reach out to someone if your provider isn't available. Your safety is the priority. Since I may not be available outside of the time of your appointment, calling or texting 988 is a great option. This is a national 24/7 anonymous, and private helpline answered by staff trained on compassionately and effectively responding to crisis.

Foundation 2 offers a broad array of crisis services including:

  • Youth services and shelter

  • Crisis line that can be utilized by calling 988

  • and the free Mobile Crisis Outreach program. These are trained counselors that will respond within 1 hour of calling to assess and stabilize a situation, offer immediate crisis counseling, and refer to appropriate longer term services to clients of all ages in the counties of Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones, Linn, Muscatine and Scott. You can receive support by calling 988.
